It’s a tough situation right now, and the longer you live in, hypothermia will set in,” stated Pacifica Police Captain Joe Oppenheimer. “But we’re going to strive for our pleasant. We can do passing checks during the day.”
Police say Tyler Collins was pronounced missing at 4 a.m. Tuesday.
An institution of buddies informed police that they had been staying at a nearby lodge close to Rockaway Beach and, in the institute,tion, determined to enter the water.
One back, but friends soon realised Collins was missing.
“You have riptide and threatening undertow not usually seen but makes it difficult to come back to shore even though it can be very near,” Oppenheimer said.
Folks say Collins is from Dos Palos.
“I was greatly surprised by that. I’ve seen that on his face, and I became like, oh, I recognize that individual,” stated resident Sarah Vega.
However, Vega does not want to reveal her face but says she’s friends with Collin on Facebook and sees that he’s often surfing or on the coast with buddies.
She went to Dos Palos High School at the same time as Collins. He turned into an athlete.
“He did play soccer. Very laid again. Well-liked. He’s very well-liked. He became quite famous; many people recognize him,” she said.
Jenna Mayfield says she’s a family pal and shared snapshots of Collin, describing him as adventurous, wise, and hardworking.
She added that he has “the sweetest, kindest heart” and this situation is “devastating.”
Vega maintains her wish because the Coast Guard searches the waters for the missing swimmer.
Coast Guard officers said water temperatures and massive swells are a concern, but they have numerous resources searching out Collins.
